I’m super excited to share the cover for my new book 25 Fantastical Ways To Deal With Stress In A Modern World!

I want to give a huge shout-out to Mikey Brooks for the layout. He took my art and created the perfect cover. I’m thankful for his knowledge and expertise on this project.

Relieve Stress and Anxiety Through Art

The creative process is one of the highlights of the past several months. Making art helps to relieve the stress and anxiety I’ve experienced while dealing with health issues and six surgeries in the last two and a half years. My body has been through a lot during that time. It can sure take a toll on your overall well-being. Remember, emotional and mental health and wellness are just as important as the physical.

The Creative Process

Making each image come alive with bright colors and whimsical characters is one of my favorite parts of the process. Sometimes I get so involved in the making of my fantasy art that I lose track of time. I am completely immersed in the setting and find myself on a fantastical adventure with the characters I’ve created.

I’m also a person who likes to finish what I start. So it can be difficult to take a break and stretch my muscles. You know that self-talk, let me just add one more thing, can end up taking until 2 in the morning if I’m not careful. Then I wake up with a kinked neck and a cramp down my arm and into my hand – haha!

I’ve learned so much creating the art for this book. Most of the images are made using the Procreate app on my iPad. I really like the portability it affords. You can take it anywhere. I also use my 22” Wacom Cintique with Clip Studio Paint. It’s a lot bigger and is great for my large projects. I hope that you enjoy it as much as I do.
